• <br /> ADAMS <br /> ARCHITECTURE <br /> Comment 4: <br /> The Upper Floor level includes ceiling fans in the bathrooms, <br /> communal laundry room,janitor closet that penetrate the <br /> membrane of the rated ceiling assembly. The drawings should <br /> specify shafts or radiation dampers. Where shafts are provided, <br /> details for the shaft construction should be provided in the <br /> drawings. See IBC Sections 717.6 and 717.6.2. <br /> Response: <br /> All fans are currently existing. New fans are being proposed as replacements <br /> of existing fixture under IEBC Section 503. These alterations to be done in <br /> manner that maintains the level of fire protection provided per IEBC 703. A <br /> note has been added to the ceiling plans to this effect. <br /> Comment 5: <br /> The Upper Floor level includes exhaust ducts for kitchen fans and a <br /> dryer in the communal laundry room. The ducts are anticipated to <br /> penetrate through wall and horizontal membranes and assemblies. <br /> Details for shafts should be provided in the construction drawings. <br /> Note that dampers are not permitted on these ducts. See IBC <br /> Sections 714 and 717. <br /> Response: <br /> All fans and their associated ductwork are currently existing.
