ADAMS <br /> ARCHITECTURE <br /> Comment 2: <br /> The Upper Floor level includes penetrations for lighting into and <br /> through the rated ceiling assemblies. Details should be provided in <br /> the construction drawings to fire-proof the penetrations. The <br /> details should specify listed tested assemblies. Where the <br /> exception(s) of IBC Section 714.4.2 is used, a detail diagraming the <br /> prescribed requirements should be provided. See IBC Sections <br /> 107.2.1 and 714.4. <br /> Response: <br /> Only three new penetrations into the ceiling assembly are proposed. All <br /> remaining lighting and fans are being proposed as replacements of existing <br /> fixture under IEBC Section 503. These alterations to be done in manner that <br /> maintains the level of fire protection provide per IEBC 703. A note has been <br /> added to the ceiling plans to this effect. <br /> The three new ceiling membrane penetrations will be addressed using <br /> exception 714.54.2 4. utilizing a listed electrical box tested for a one hour <br /> or better rating. The specified product has been indicated on the ceiling <br /> plans. <br /> Comment 3: <br /> The Upper Floor level includes a communal laundry room and a <br /> janitor closet with a sink. Exhaust fans should be provided. The <br /> ventilation requirements should be specified. See IMC Section <br /> 403.8.4. <br /> Response: <br /> No work is being proposed in this room.
