November 20, 2024 <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Bader and Vogeli <br />who were excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, Mayor Franklin pinned the officer with <br />their badge, and Council members congratulated Officer Ota. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin stated that Council received the final memo from staff regarding budget <br />questions and is now posted on the City’s Budget webpage, and invited Abigail Cooley, Library <br />Director to provide an update on the library budget. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued with Abigail Cooley answering council questions. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The Council received two (2) written comments, and the following members of the public spoke: <br />Shelley Whitkop <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Several council members thanked the public commentor and the new police officer. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne attended the Parks & Quality of Life Committee meeting, National League <br />of Cities Conference in Tampa, Florida, and the Port Gardner Neighborhood meeting. She also <br />stated that the Everett Farmer’s Market is having a pop-up Harvest Market on Sunday, November <br />24th on Wetmore Ave. <br /> <br />President Schwab provided comments on the City’s budget and deficit, the multi-purpose <br />stadium, and reinstating the City Council’s Executive Assistant’s position hours. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo attended the Pinehurst – Beverly Park Neighborhood meeting, and the <br />Parks & Quality of Life Committee meeting, and provided comments on the efforts in preparing <br />and addressing the windstorm. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Government Affairs Director Jennifer Gregerson had no comments. <br />
