March Muttness:Terms and Conditions <br />Terms and Conditions ("Terms") <br />Last updated:11/15/2024 <br />Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms")carefully before agreeing to participate in the <br />2025 March Muttness Animal Shelter Online Fundraising Contest (“Contest”),presented by the <br />Humane Society of Southern Arizona (“HSSA”,“our”)and managed by HSSA’s contractor,The <br />Nonprofit Exchange/DonorCharm (“The Nonprofit Exchange”).Your access to and use of the <br />fundraising contest,and its component websites and platforms,is conditioned on your acceptance of <br />and compliance with these Terms.By utilizing the Contest,or its component websites and platforms, <br />you agree to be bound by these Terms.If you disagree with any part of the terms you may not utilize <br />the Contest. <br />Purpose <br />The purpose of the Contest is to permit up to 128 qualified 501(c)(3)nonprofit humane societies or <br />animal shelters (“Shelters”)to participate in the 2025 version of March Muttness.The Contest is a <br />bracket-driven fundraising challenge with a basketball theme,with the Shelter raising the most <br />money in a game (“Game”)advancing to the next round until one Shelter wins the entire Contest as a <br />result of the completion of the final round.The Contest is presented by HSSA,which will additionally <br />participate as one of the Shelters with no special considerations.The Contest is not affiliated with the <br />National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”),its tournaments,or its member schools,partners, <br />or sponsors. <br />Qualification of Nonprofits and Contest Rules <br />Any U.S.-based 501(c)(3)nonprofit Shelter is eligible for consideration and must provide <br />documentation of its 501(c)(3)non-profit status before its participation is approved.Wildlife and <br />wildlife rehabilitation organizations are not eligible to participate.In the event more than 128 Shelters <br />express interest in the 2025 Contest,the 128 Shelters will be chosen at the sole discretion of HSSA. <br />If fewer than 128 Shelters participate,the Contest will begin on the same date and play through as <br />many rounds as needed.Approved government-owned shelters may also participate. <br />Participating Shelters will be seeded,bracket-style,based on past participation,donations earned, <br />and capacity.All Shelters must actively participate in each round.The Shelter that advances to the <br />next round of the Contest will be the one that raises more money than the other Shelter participating <br />in their specific bracket,via the approved fundraising platform page,in the time allotted as described <br />herein: <br />ROUNDS <br />For purposes of winning the Game,only donations received during the time allotted for your shelter’s <br />specific rounds will be counted towards your score.The fundraising landing pages will remain open <br />until April 1,2025 at 11:00 PM EST,to present the opportunity for Shelters to receive additional <br />donations,but those donations will not be counted for Contest purposes.In the event of a tie:the <br />winner will be the first team who received their final donation to get to the end dollar amount,as <br />verified on the timestamp. <br />By participating in this Contest,you agree to be bound by the terms of these Rules and by HSSA’s <br />decisions,which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. <br />Website <br />For the purposes of the Contest,HSSA owns the website located at MarchMuttness.org,including all <br />copyrights and trademarks,and further retains all rights to its continued use and development.The <br />Nonprofit Exchange owns the event platform used on this website.
