ORDINANCE NO. /917 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 An Ordinance relating to the manner of giving notice of the <br /> 3 demolition of frame buildings within the fire limits of the City of <br /> 4 Everett, and to appeals to the arbitration committee, where frame <br /> 5 buildings have been condemned, and amending Ordinance No . 1260 of <br /> 6 the City of Everett . <br /> 7 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Section 1 : That Section 171 of Ordinance No . 1260 of the City <br /> 10 of Everett be and the same i s hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 11 "Section 171 : No frame or wooden building within the fire <br /> 12 its that has become injured by wear and tear or the action of the <br /> 13 elements or fire shall be repaired when such injury is more than <br /> 14 305 of its actual value as decided by the Building Inspector and the <br /> 15 Chief of the Fire Department , and upon notice from the Building In- <br /> 16 Spector such building shall be demolished within thirty days. Such <br /> 17 notice shall be given _(1) by riving written notice to the owner, or <br /> 18 reputed owner of the property condemned if within the City of Ever- <br /> 19 ett; or (2) 127 giving written notice to the agent or attorney of the <br /> 20 owner or reputed owner of the property condemned, in case the owner <br /> 21 or reputed owner does not live within the City of Everett ; or (3) by <br /> 22 mailing a notice in a registered letter to the last known address of <br /> 23 the owner or reputed owner of the property condemned and the return <br /> 24 receipt signed by the owner or rerouted owner or anyone for him, ' shad <br /> 25 be prima facie evidence o f service of such notice or (4) by giving <br /> 26 sixty daW notice by publication once in the newspaper doing the <br /> 27 City ,printing; and in each of said :methods of _givinP. notice a copy o <br /> 28 the notice of condemnation shall be posted on the front of the build <br /> 29 ing condemned. No wooden, shingle or shake roof of any existing <br /> 30 building within the fire limits shall be renewed except in accordanc = <br /> 31 with the provisions of this Ordinance for the construction of new <br />
