(fVPP-H-17) <br />Work with local governments and housing providers to maintain a 5-year plan <br />for assisting unhoused persons in finding permanent housing. <br />Partner with jurisdictions and social service organizations to fund and operate <br />emergency shelters and day centers. <br />Provide for a system of emergency shelters, permanent supportive housing, <br />housing with services, and day centers that meet the needs of the population <br />served, operate under management plans. <br />Implement policies to integrate special needs housing within the community, <br />ensuring equitable distribution and expanding housing choices. <br />Encourage owners of low-income housing projects to offer support services like <br />case management and life skills training. <br />Raise awareness of universal design to increase housing accessibility. <br />Ensure sufficient land and zoning for special needs housing types, updating <br />definitions, and adding new types as needed.
