January 15, 2025 <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Members Fosse and Rhyne <br />who were excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The Council received 1 (one) written comments and the following members of the public spoke: <br />Austin Swetz, John Klosterman, Robert “Rob” Emery, Scott Sparking, and Michelle Pendergrass. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Several council members thanked the public commentors and the new firefighters. <br /> <br />Vice President Zarlingo attended the Transportation Policy Board meeting that is part of the <br />Puget Sound Regional Council, and an event held by the new Everett Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader attended the Riverside and Port Gardner Neighborhood meetings. <br /> <br />Council Member Vogeli provided comments regarding Hope N Wellness, the loss of her friend’s <br />son who was involved in a pedestrian hit and run the week prior, the loss of former Mayor and <br />Council Member Frank Anderson. She attended Facing Power in Policing and Transforming Justice <br />community discussion events, and the Alliance for Housing Affordability meeting which will be <br />presenting to Council on January 29th. She requested a report on the Repeat Offenders <br />Sentencing Enhancement Ordinance that was passed in January 2024, and stated the People’s <br />March Food Drive and Sign Waving event will be held at 39th and Broadway on Saturday, January <br />18th. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy attended the Port Gardner Bay Neighborhood Association meeting. <br /> <br />President Schwab provided comments on the current wildfires in California. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Executive Director Lori Cummings had no update. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY
