Elyse Denkers holds a Bachelor of Science <br /> degree in environmental science from The Evergreen State College and a Master's degree in <br /> restoration ecology from the University of Washington. She also holds a professional certificate in <br /> Wetland Science and Management from the University of Washington Professional and <br /> Continuing Education program. Elyse has completed specialized trainings in wetland and ordinary <br /> high water mark delineation,wetland and stream classification, and biological assessments. <br /> 1.2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> Access to the subject site is from the south via 93rd Place SW. The site is developed with a single- <br /> family home in the western portion of the property and a detached garage in the eastern portion. <br /> Surrounding land use is comprised of single-family residences, a golf course, and undeveloped <br /> forested areas. The property generally slopes to the east to a stream channel that runs north-south <br /> along the eastern property boundary.Vegetation on the property consists of maintained lawn, and <br /> ornamental plants surrounding the home. Vegetation in the eastern portion of the site along the <br /> streambank includes Himalayan blackberry (Rubus armeniacus), willow saplings (Salix sib.), reed <br /> canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea), creeping buttercup (Ranunculus repens), field horsetail (Equisetum <br /> arvense), white clover (Trifolium repens), curly dock (Rumex crispus), and field bindweed <br /> (Convolvulus arvensis). <br /> One stream (Swamp Creek) is located on-site, along the eastern property boundary. Three <br /> wetlands(Wetlands A,B,and C)are located off-site in the vicinity of the subject property.Wetlands <br /> A and B are associated with Swamp Creek. <br /> 2.0 CRITICAL AREA DETERMINATION <br /> 2.1 REVIEW OF EXISTING INFORMATION <br /> Prior to conducting the site investigation, public resources were reviewed to gather background <br /> information on the subject property and the surrounding area in regards to critical areas. The <br /> following information was examined: <br /> • USFWS National Wetlands Inventory: The National Wetland Inventory (NWI) depicts a <br /> Riverine System off-site and east of the property. A large wetland complex is also depicted <br /> approximately 300 feet off-site to the west of the property. <br /> • USDA-NRCS Web Soil Survey: The Web Soil Survey maps the soils on site as Alderwood- <br /> Urban land complex, 2 to 8 percent slopes.A soil description can be found in section 2.2.2 <br /> below. <br /> • WDFW Priority Habitat and Species PHS) Interactive Map: PHS depicts the same large <br /> wetland complex as shown by NWI. <br /> • WA-DNR Forest Practices Application Mapping Tool FPAMT): FPAMT depicts a Type <br /> F stream east of the property. <br /> Talley - 18th Ave W 2 Critical Area Study and Buffer Restoration Plan <br /> WRI#19238 November 6, 2019 <br />
