January 22, 2025 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 12:30 p.m., January 22, <br />2025, by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Zarlingo, Bader, and Tuohy were present. Council Member Vogeli was excused. <br />Council Member Zarlingo led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Tuohy recited the land acknowledgement. <br />The minutes of the January 15, 2025, meeting were approved. <br />The minutes of the January 18, 2025, retreat meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin invited Police Chief John DeRousse to provide an update on the investigation into <br />the stabbing of a 13-year-old around North Middle School last week. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following members of the public spoke: Jimmy Castro and Jeff Kelly. <br />COUNCIL <br />Vice President Zarlingo commented on his attendance at the Snohomish County Law and Justice <br />Council meeting on Tuesday. <br />Council Member Fosse commented on her attendance at the playground ribbon cutting at <br />Wiggums Hollow Park. <br />Council Member Bader commented on his attendance at the Delta neighborhood and Library <br />Board meeting. <br />Council Member Rhyne commented on her attendance at the Port Gardner and Glacier View <br />neighborhood meetings. She also commented on her testimony in Olympia for funding for a fire <br />training facility. She also thanked staff for a successful Council retreat.
