<br />Fulton Street Pedestrian Bicycle Corridor PAGE 87 OF 114 CONTRACT <br />FEDERAL AID # TAP-0420(026) <br />WO #3785 September 6, 2024 <br /> <br />the material produced after the change will be evaluated on the basis of the new JMF for 1 <br />the remaining sublots in the current lot and for acceptance of subsequent lots. For a lot 2 <br />in progress with a CPF less than 0.75, a new lot will begin at the Contractor’s request 3 <br />after the Engineer is satisfied that material conforming to the Specifications can be 4 <br />produced. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Sampling and testing for evaluation shall be performed on the frequency of one sample 7 <br />per sublot. 8 <br /> 9 <br />5-04.3(9)C2 Mixture Nonstatistical Evaluation Sampling 10 <br />Samples for acceptance testing shall be obtained by the Contractor when ordered by the 11 <br />Engineer. The Contractor shall sample the HMA mixture in the presence of the Engineer 12 <br />and in accordance with AASHTO T 168. A minimum of three samples should be taken 13 <br />for each class of HMA placed on a project. If used in a structural application, at least one 14 <br />of the three samples shall to be tested. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Sampling and testing HMA in a Structural application where quantities are less than 400 17 <br />tons is at the discretion of the Engineer. 18 <br /> 19 <br />For HMA used in a structural application and with a total project quantity less than 800 20 <br />tons but more than 400 tons, a minimum of one acceptance test shall be performed. In 21 <br />all cases, a minimum of 3 samples will be obtained at the point of acceptance, a 22 <br />minimum of one of the three samples will be tested for conformance to the JMF: 23 <br /> 24 <br />• If the test results are found to be within specification requirements, additional 25 <br />testing will be at the Engineer’s discretion. 26 <br />• If test results are found not to be within specification requirements, additional 27 <br />testing of the remaining samples to determine a Composite Pay Factor (CPF) shall 28 <br />be performed. 29 <br /> 30 <br />5-04.3(9)C3 Mixture Nonstatistical Evaluation – Acceptance Testing 31 <br />Testing of HMA for compliance of Va will at the option of the Contracting Agency. If 32 <br />tested, compliance of Va will use WSDOT SOP 731. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Testing for compliance of asphalt binder content will be by WSDOT FOP for AASHTO T 35 <br />308. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Testing for compliance of gradation will be by FOP for WAQTC T 27/T 11. 38 <br /> 39 <br />5-04.3(9)C4 Mixture Nonstatistical Evaluation – Pay Factors 40 <br />For each lot of material falling outside the tolerance limits in 5 -04.3(9), the Contracting 41 <br />Agency will determine a Composite Pay Factor (CPF) using the following price 42 <br />adjustment factors: 43 <br /> 44 <br />Table of Price Adjustment Factors <br />Constituent Factor
