This email will serve as the review letter. The
comments below should be addressed. Two revised full-sized hard-copies of the drawings should be submitted for
review. An itemized response letter stating how each comment has been addressed should be included with the
drawing. Additional revised documentation, including but not limited structural calculations and other supporting
documentation, should be submitted as required.
Comments
1. The project includes a 10-foot tall free-standing sign per Sheet 1. Note "G" states to provide a foundation as
required. The drawings should include a design for the foundation and interior structural supports. The
foundation should be designed for wind loading per ASCE 7-16 Chapter 26. Calculations substantiating the
design should be submitted for review. See IBC Sections 1607.2.1, 1603.1, and 1609.1.
2. The wall-mounted signs utilize "studs"for the connections. A detail for the connection should be included in the
drawings. The detail should include but is not limited to the type and size (e.g., diameter, etc.), and minimum
embedment. It is anticipated that this is a drilled-in anchor; the detail should specify that the anchor installation
should not damage the wall reinforcement. See IBC Section 1072.1.
Please contact me if you have questions. Thank you.
— Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
Associate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/T: 8 am - 12 pm & 1 pm—3 pm;Tu: 1:00pm-3:00pm
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
