1.6 Site Drainage
Average annual rainfall at the site is approximately 38-inches.Drainage information for the facility is included
in Figure 2.
The canopied fueling stations have catch basins for storm water runoff and are surrounded by 6-inch berms to
direct flow to the catch basins. Surface water generally sheet flows across the sites to the storm drains. All of
the catch basins on the operational portion of the property are connected to three oil/water separators, which
are(1)one-300 and(2)two-1,000-gallons in size and are located near the southwest center of the facility.
The southern located 1,000-gallon separator is connected with the storm drains associated with the Pac Pride
fueling system on the eastern site. The northern located 1,000-gallon separator is connected with the storm
drains associated with the storage/warehouse and driveway areas, and the 300-gallon coalescing plate separator
is associated with the storm drains located in proximity to the bulk fueling area operated by Nelson on the
western site.
The water flow from the oil/water separators are directed to a central collection in a closed valve box. Water
from the closed valve is directed to a 4,500-gallon underground vault which provides secondary containment
for the fuel trucks. The water level in the containment vault is visually observed daily, and when it reaches
half its capacity it will be periodically pumped manually for disposal off-site by Marine Vacuum Service.
There are two catch basins located on the southern border of the property which collect roof drainage, and
water from outside the operational portion of the site. The two catch basins vaults are referenced as the SE
corner adjacent to 7th Ave,and the catch basin vault between the warehouse and adjacent property to the south.
The two catch basins are not connected with the oil/water separators, and flow directly below grade to the
surface water receptor west of the site.
1.7 Pollution Prevention Team
Table 2 includes the names and telephone numbers of facility operators to be contacted in an emergency.
Table 2
Pollution Prevention Team Responsibilities and Contact Information
Staff Names and/or Individual Responsibilities Contact Numbers
Title
Kory DeMun Monitoring, specific BMP Office: (425)353-9701
maintenance/implementation,monthly Cell: (425)772-2356
inspections
