4.7 Install the Isolation Valves <br /> Isolation valves (included with water heater) provide the ability to isolate the water heater from the <br /> structure's plumbing and allow quick and easy access to flush the heat exchanger. The supplied isolation <br /> valves meet American National Standard (ANSI Z21.10.3)/Canadian Standard (CSA 4.3) and are ANSI/ <br /> NSF 61 approved for potable water. <br /> 4.7.1 Instructions <br /> 1. Position the Hot Isolation Valve (Red) below the Hot Outlet side of the water heater. <br /> 2. Hand tighten the Swivel Nut of the Hot Isolation Valve (Red) to the Hot Outlet side of the water <br /> heater. <br /> 3. Rotate the Drain Valve to an accessible position. With a wrench, tighten the Swivel Nut to the water <br /> heater. <br /> 4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the Cold Isolation Valve (Blue). <br /> 5. Connect the Cold Isolation Valve (Blue)to the Cold Water Supply Line. <br /> 6. Connect the Hot Isolation Valve (Red) to the Hot Water Supply Line. <br /> 7.
