Framing details should be included in the drawings for the elevated platform construction in
Room 3D. Framing fasteners should be specified in the details or with a fastener schedule, or
both. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1.
2. Continuing with the previous comment, the platforms include partial height walls. Details for
the wall construction should be included. Note that it appears that incomplete steel framing is
specified in Section 9/IF-426; the framing size, spacing, and base connections are not provided.
Walls should be capable of resisting loads per IBC Section 1607.8.1. See IBC Sections 1603.1
and 1604.1.
3. The building is Type IA construction. Where the platforms and walls are constructed of
combustible materials, they should comply with IBC Sections 603.1 and 410.2.
This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and
amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made
during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit
requirements. The designers -of -record are responsible for a complete design in accordance with
the laws of the state of Washington.
If you have any questions or require additional clarification, please contact us.
Respectfully,
Drew Martin, P.E., S.E.
Associate Engineer / Commercial Plans Examiner
(425)257-8813
dmartin@everettwa.gov
S:\BMartin\2022\B2206-040—Rl.docx
(S 3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
© 425.257.8810 O
425.257.8857 fax
everetteps@everettwa.gov
eve rettwa.gov/perm its
