Vestibule 3511 in Plan 2/IF-423 includes two doors in series. See IBC Section 1101.2, and references to ICC <br />A117.1-09 in the following comments: <br />a. The vestibule should specify a minimum 48-inch clearance per Section 404.2.5• <br />b. The doors should comply with the maneuvering clearances per Section 404.23• <br />SLAM RESPONSE: The jury deliberation Suite entry provides 48 inch clearance and door maneuvering <br />clearances. <br />Miscellaneous: <br />14. The water closet in Room 3513 in Plan 2/IR-423 does not appear to comply with the clearance requirements <br />of UPC 402.5. The clearance should be minimum 15 inches to each side. The unobstructed clearance in <br />front of the water closet should be 24 inches deep for the 15-inch clearance to each side. <br />SLAM RESPONSE: ENLARGED PLAN - JUDICIAL TOILET 351313/Sheet IF-428, Rev 1 dated 7/20/2022 <br />revises the toilet location to achieve code clearances. <br />Structural <br />i. Framing details should be included in the drawings for the elevated platform construction in Room 3D. <br />Framing fasteners should be specified in the details or with a fastener schedule, or both. See IBC Sections <br />107.2.1 and 1603.1. <br />SLAM RESPONSE: PLATFORM DETAIL 6/Sheet IF-427, Rev 1 dated 7/20/2022 depicts the millwork <br />platform construction. See also requirements outlined in specification section o62023 INTERIOR FINISH <br />CARPENTRY. The framing fasteners are part of a delegated design by the mitlwork contractor who will <br />provide detailed shop drawings. This is the same process used for the two similar courtrooms delivered <br />for the Snohomish County Courthouse renovation project, <br />2. Continuing with the previous comment, the platforms include partial height walls. Details for the wall <br />construction should be included. Note that it appears that incomplete steel framing is specified in Section <br />9/IF-426; the framing size, spacing, and base connections are not provided. Walls should be capable of <br />resisting loads per IBC Section 1607.8.1. See IBC Sections 1603.1 and 1604.1. <br />SLAM RESPONSE: we have deleted the steel tube framing references as the framing and fasteners are <br />part of a delegated design by the millwork contractor who will provide detailed shop drawings. This is <br />the same process used for the two similar courtrooms delivered for the Snohomish County Courthouse <br />renovation project. <br />3. The building is Type IA construction.
