SECTION 01 5700 <br /> FIRE, SAFETY AND LOCAL REGULATIONS <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br /> A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br /> Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br /> 1.02 PUBLIC AGENCIES <br /> A. Work shall comply with all governing codes, ordinances, laws, regulations, safety orders and <br /> directives pertaining to work performed. All local, city, state and local requirements apply. The <br /> same shall apply regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous material. <br /> B. All work-related permits shall be obtained by the Contractor. This includes governmental fees <br /> and licenses essential to effect the work. <br /> C. All work on or in the vicinity of public land shall be approved by the appropriate authority. <br /> Contractor shall conform to any requirements of such authority. <br /> 1.03 SPECIAL CONTROLS <br /> A. Contractor shall schedule, in advance, any work that generates disturbing or disruptive noises <br /> with Owner and Owner's Representative. Smoking and loud radios are prohibited. <br /> B. The building interior, project site and adjoining property shall be secure from dust and debris. <br /> C. Necessary controls shall be provided to prevent odor and particle matter from polluting the air. <br /> D. Access to roof shall always be controlled to prevent unauthorized persons admission to roof <br /> area and use of Contractor's equipment and materials. <br /> E. Disposal of Materials <br /> 1. All materials to be disposed of shall be loaded directly into trucks. Precautions shall be <br /> taken to prevent pollution and damage to existing or new surfaces. <br /> 2. Accumulation of materials to be disposed of is not permitted. Materials shall be promptly <br /> removed from site and disposed of in a manner acceptable to local authorities. <br /> 3. No free-fall of debris into containers or lower roof areas permitted. <br /> 1.04 SAFETY <br /> A. Contractor is solely responsible for safety at the work site and shall conform with safety <br /> requirements specified herein and as specified in the contract. <br /> B. Contractor shall not exercise any method in this Contract that jeopardizes safety to employees, <br /> public or subject property. Contractor shall hold harmless and defend Owner and Owner's <br /> Representatives for any violations, claims or citations. <br /> C. Contractor shall comply with Federal OSHA, State OSHA, and Owner's requirements. Where <br /> there are conflicts between Owner's safety requirements and OSHA, the strictest requirements <br /> shall apply. <br /> D. Contractor's employees that will be visiting or working on the Owner's site shall pass Owner's <br /> Safety course and shall carry the badge of certification on his or her person at all times while on <br /> the Owner's property. <br /> E. Contractor shall provide for employee and public safety and be responsible for the construction, <br /> maintenance, supervision and dismantling of such safety requirements. <br /> F.
