Water Repellent Preservative: NWWDA-tested and accepted formulation containing 3-iodo-2- <br /> propyl butyl carbonate (IPBC)as its active ingredient. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION: <br /> 3.01 INSPECTION: <br /> A. The roofing consultant will inspect the roof system periodically during installation and perform a <br /> final inspection. Certain essential inspections are required to be performed by the consultant as <br /> outlined in the "Quality Assurance" section of these specifications. The contractor shall advise <br /> the consultant when he/she plans to start the rough carpentry installation and when the <br /> essential inspections are to be performed. Contractor shall advise the consultant of all changes <br /> from that schedule. Failure to give proper notification of project delay shall result in a back <br /> charge to the contractor for the consultant's time and expenses. <br /> B. General Substrate Inspection: <br /> 1. Verify that bolts anchoring existing wood nailers to concrete walls comply with FMRC <br /> Bulletin 1-49, "Perimeter Flashing". <br /> 2. For existing nailers, exposed and left in place, verify that existing bolts or fasteners are <br /> tight, secure, and meet the requirements of these specifications. Tighten, reset, or replace <br /> fasteners that are loose, deformed, damaged, corroded or not in compliance with <br /> specifications. <br /> 3. See that all surfaces are sound, even, and free of any foreign material or moisture. <br /> 4. Immediately notify the owner's representative of any defects or damage to the substrate. <br /> Do not apply the rough carpentry until these defects have been corrected. <br /> 5. Inspect underside of deck and map out any conduit pipes that may be mounted to the <br /> underside of the deck.
