D. Notification: Notify Roofing Consultant of unsatisfactory conditions in writing with copy to <br /> Designer and Owner. <br /> E. Acceptance: Beginning of work means acceptance of existing conditions by installer. <br /> 3.02 WORKMANSHIP: <br /> A. Perform work in accordance with the manufacturer's latest published specifications and <br /> recommendations. <br /> B. Install only as much roofing material as can be completed in accordance with specified <br /> requirements in one day. <br /> C. Do not traffic over or stack roofing equipment or materials on completed new roofing surfaces, <br /> without adequate protection with '/2 inch plywood. <br /> D. Comply with safety standards when work is in progress. <br /> E. Do not apply roofing materials before sunrise, and when there are indications of moisture <br /> present (rain, mist, dew, frost, and snow). <br /> F. Avoid walking on membrane after being installed. <br /> G. Care must be exercised to ensure that water does not flow beneath any sections of the <br /> completed roof. When the weather is threatening, and at the end of each workday, seal the <br /> loose edge of the membrane with the manufacturer's specified overnight sealant below the <br /> membrane and weighted down with sandbags. Contractor shall replace any wet or damaged <br /> insulation board and membrane because of any breaks or damage to the membrane or water <br /> cut-off. <br /> H. Make every attempt to install flashing at openings, projections, and walls adjoining new roofing <br /> every day or work period. <br /> I. To maintain the staggered rigid insulation board pattern, along the short direction of the board, <br /> provide '/2 sheets of filler board to form a continuous edge for the water cut-off. Remove the <br /> filler pieces to commence the insulation and membrane construction. <br /> J. The Applicator shall check all welded seams for continuity using a rounded screwdriver or <br /> cotter key removal tool. On-site evaluation of welded seams shall be made daily by the <br /> Applicator at locations as directed by the Owner's Representative or Manufacturer's <br /> Representative. One inch (25 mm)wide cross-section samples of welded seams shall be taken <br /> at least two times a day. Correct welds display failure from shearing of the membrane prior to <br /> separation of the weld. Each test cut shall be patched by the Applicator at no extra cost to the <br /> Owner. Date and adhere cross-section sample to membrane patch. <br /> 3.03 (ALTERNATE 2) INSULATION: <br /> A. The type and thickness rigid insulation shall be installed using mechanical fasteners or <br /> adhesives in accordance with the manufacturer's published specifications and shall meet the <br /> minimum design requirements specified. <br /> B. Insulation shall be adequately supported to sustain normal roof traffic without damage. <br /> C. For combustible decks, the fire rated board shall be installed directly below the membrane. <br /> D. Insulation shall be installed in parallel courses with end joints staggered and adjacent boards <br /> butted together with no joints greater than 1/4". <br /> E. If more than one layer of insulation is used, all joints between layers shall be offset by 12" <br /> minimum. <br /> F. Where field trimmed, insulation shall be fitted tightly around roof protrusions and terminations. <br /> G. Tapered insulation boards shall be installed in accordance with the insulation <br /> manufacturer's/supplier's approved shop drawings. <br /> H.
