General: All fasteners, including but not limited to those used for attaching rigid insulation <br /> board, anchor bars, and sheet metal flashings shall be approved by the manufacturer. <br /> Contractor shall submit a letter of approval, listing all fasteners being used on the project and <br /> that they are acceptable for the guaranteed roof system specified. <br /> B. Insulation to Deck: <br /> 1. Fastener: No 12 (or better) corrosion resistant, heavy duty deck fasteners and 2-7/8" min. <br /> diameter Galvalume (TM) metal plate approved by the roofing manufacturer and <br /> acceptable with FM Global approved systems. <br /> 2. For the plate bonded system, provide polymer-coated metal plates approved for FMG <br /> rated systems. <br /> 3. The fastener length shall be sufficient to penetrate the steel deck 3/4" minimum. <br /> C. Roofing Material to Concrete or Masonry: Concrete nails with an integral flat cap (1 inch <br /> minimum diameter).or coated fasteners designed for concrete deck attachment <br /> D. Sheet Metal to Wood (Buried by Roofing): <br /> 1. FS FF-N-105B (3)Type II, Style 20, roofing nails, galvanized steel wire, flat head, <br /> diamond point, round barbed shank. <br /> 2. Length sufficient to penetrate wood blocking 1-1/4". <br /> 3. Maximum spacing shall be 4" o.c. <br /> E. Sheet Metal to Wood (Exposed): Hex head screws with EPDM/stainless steel sealing bearing <br /> washers. Length sufficient to penetrate wood 1-1/4". Maximum spacing shall be 18" on center. <br /> F. Hook Strips to Wood: <br /> 1. Annular threaded corrosion resistant nails with 3/16" minimum flat head. Nail shall <br /> penetrate wood a minimum of 1-1/4", spaced a maximum of 6" on center. <br /> 2. 8 corrosion resistant screws.
