3. Cleats: Galvanized steel, minimum 22 gauge G-90 galvanized steel or one grade thicker
than gravel stop or fascia being anchored whichever is greater. Provide 1/4' kick. Attach
with corrosion resistant No. 10 screws, spaced 12" o.c.
F. Scuppers and Collectors:
1. Sleeve: Galvanized steel, minimum 24 gauge G-90 galvanized steel, mill finish.
2. Wall/Deck flange: Galvanized steel, minimum 24 gauge, coated with a minimum of 28 mils
of TPO polymer to match the membrane.
3. Face Plates: Shall be pre-painted fluoropolymer coated galvanized steel, 24 gauge
minimum.
G. Storm Collars:
1. For large pipes (greater than 3" diameter), fabricate from 24 gauge galvanized steel. Spot
weld angle brackets to collar(properly spaced) and drill two 3/16" diameter holes on
vertical leg of brackets to secure collar with a nut and bolt assembly (refer to drawings).
2. For small pipes, fabricate from reinforced flexible membrane. Secure with a stainless steel
draw band.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Examine substrates and conditions under which sheet metal flashing and trim are to be
installed and verify that Work may properly commence. Do not proceed with installation until
unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
B. Verify that surfaces are true and sound enough to retain fasteners as specified.
C. Verify that wood blocking has been provided below membrane for securement of galvanized
flanges. Note, lead flanges do not require wood blocking.
3.02 GENERAL
A. Unless otherwise indicated, install sheet metal flashing and trim to comply with performance
requirements, manufacturer's installation instructions, as specified in this section. Anchor units
of Work securely in place by methods indicated, providing for thermal expansion of metal units;
conceal fasteners where possible, and set units true to line and level as indicated. Install Work
with laps, joints, and seams that will be permanently watertight and weatherproof.
B. Coordinate with installation of substrates to receive work of this Section and with roofing
system, as required to ensure that each element of the Work performs properly and that
combined elements are waterproof and weather tight. Anchor products securely to structural
substrates to withstand lateral and thermal stresses and inward and outward loading pressures.
C. Metal siding and trim shall be removed and replaced for proper installation of the closure piece.
D. Install exposed sheet metal Work that is without excessive oil canning, buckling, and tool marks
and that is true to line and levels indicated, with exposed edges folded back to form hems.
Install sheet metal flashing and trim to fit substrates and to result in waterproof and weather-
resistant performance. Verify shapes and dimensions of surfaces to be covered before
fabricating sheet metal.
E. Contractor shall provide closures for all sheet metal flashing terminations. The butt ends shall
be fabricated with flanges that conform to the facets of the adjacent wall or substrate. "Dog
ears" or gussets shall be attached and soldered where the metal is cut and bent to change
planes. At concrete walls, the butt plate shall be fastened and sealed along the top edge with
caulking. Butyl sealant tape shall be sandwiched between the wall and the metal flange.
F. Contractor shall round the corners of all flanges that are to be nailed and set over the
completed membrane or flashings.
G. Expansion Provisions: Provide for thermal expansion of exposed sheet metal Work. Space
movement joints at maximum of 10 feet(3 m)with no joints allowed within 24 inches (610 mm)
of corner or intersection. Where lapped or bayonet-type expansion provisions in Work cannot
SEA00511 / Prologis - SEA00511 07 6210 -4 Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim
- FY24- Everett 1 - Capital
Roofing Project
