Geotechnical Engineering Report lierracon
Proposed Flight Line Steam Line Project
Boeing Everett Facility • Everett, Washington
January 17, 2012 ■ Terracon Project No.: 81115085
ITEM DESCRIPTION
• The utilidor will include a combination of precast concrete 111
box culverts and cast-in-place concrete box tunnels and
vaults. 111
• The northern portion of the utilidor will be constructed at a
greater depth and with more cover than the southern
portion of the utilidor.
• The northern portion of the utilidor (Station 10+12 to111
12+17)typically extends about 16 to 17 feet below existing
grade with about 5% to 6 feet of cover. About 39 feet of
Utilidor the utilidor (Station 11+14 to 11+53) will extend to a depth
of about 21 feet below grade with about 10 feet of cover in
order to pass below existing electric and telephone
conduits.
• The southern portion of the utilidor (Station 12+17 to
14+77)typically extends about 12 to 14 feet below existing
grade with about 1% to 2 feet of cover. The southern 42
feet of the utilidor(Station 14+36 to 14+77)will extend to a
depth of about 5 feet below grade with removable surface
lids in order to pass over existing telephone conduits and
water pipes.
Construction of the utilidor will be phased in order to maintain
one open airplane tow path throughout the construction
process. We understand that the southern 165 feet of the
utilidor (Station 13+12 to 14+77) will be constructed,
Phased Construction backfilled, and repaved during Phase 1. During Phase 2, the
airplane two path will be shifted south and will cross over the
completed Phase 1 utilidor. Preliminary plans indicate that
the outboard plane wheel will be located about 15 feet from
the temporary end of the Phase 1 utilidor box culvert. The
box culvert will have about 1%feet of cover at this location.
2.2 Site Location and Description
ITEM DESCRIPTION
The project is located south of Boeing Buildings 40-21 and 40-
Location 51, and north of Highway 526 in Everett, Washington. Latitude
47.9222` N, Longitude 122.2761' W. See Appendix A, Exhibit
A-1: Vicinity Map
Concrete and asphalt pavements including a material '
Existing site features handling access road, an employee/visitor vehicle access
road, and an airplane tow lane.
