R311.7, R312.1
Please see Sheet A4.0 for added large scale stair plans, section, and handrail detail.
7. Continuing with the previous comment, guards and handrails should be designed to resist
a 200-pound load in any direction at any point along the top and guard in -fill components
should be designed to withstand a horizontally applied normal of 50 pounds/foot. See
Table 301.5
Please see Sheet A4.0 and S3.1 for added Cable Rail details.
8. See Sheet A2.0 and A2.1. Plans should show smoke detectors (alarms) installed in each
sleeping room, at a point centrally located in the corridor giving access to each separate
sleeping area, and on each floor. R314.3. When more than on smoke alarm is required,
they should be interconnected.
Please see Sheet A2.0 and A2.1 for added smoke detectors and note for
interconnecting the smoke alarms.
9. Carbon monoxide alarm should be provided outside of each separate sleeping area in the
immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each level of the dwelling. R315.3.
Please see Sheet A2.0 and A2.1 for added carbon monoxide alarms on each floor.
We hope this addresses all the architectural comments.
Regards,
Stephan Collier
Anderson/Collier Architects
