Geotechnical Engineering Report-Revised lrerracon
Kaiser Everett Medical Center Everett,Washington -- s--- y
December 18, 2019 Terracon Project No. 81195071 GeORepOrf
Item Description
Existing Based on the information provided, the current Kaiser Medical Office
Improvements Building is a 58,501 square foot medical office building.
Current Ground
Paved parking and landscaped areas.
Cover
Based on our review of Google Maps and field reconnaissance, the site
appears to slope gently up from east to west, south to north. There appears
to be a slight grade differential between the southeast corner of the existing
Existing Topography building and the parking lot to the south supported by a short, approximately
3-foot high retaining wall and rockery. Grades trend down sharply at the
access road to the south of the existing building down to the east toward
Maple Street.
In general, the geology observed consisted of a relatively thin layer of
asphalt and aggregate base course overlying loose to medium dense fill or
Geology reworked glacial till that is further underlain by dense to very dense glacial
till. Lacustrine deposits were observed below the fill and above the glacial till
in the northern portion of the site in Boring B-09-19.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our initial understanding of the project was provided in our proposal and was discussed during
project planning. We have made certain assumptions regarding site grading, the extents of cuts
and fills for the final development, and structure and pavement loading conditions. The design
team should confirm our assumptions are consistent with the planned design. In the event that
design plans differ from the assumptions in this report, we should be consulted to provide
additional recommendations or modifications to this report as appropriate. Our understanding of
the project conditions is as follows:
Item Description
Our office was provided with documents titled:
"Due Diligence Locations" identifying the parcel boundaries at and
adjacent to the site.
■ "Everett Preliminary Site Plan 4.19"showing an aerial photograph
Information Provided of the site with sketched boundaries and square footage of the
existing building and proposed improvements.
■ "KE-ASC Blocking Plans—2 Options_Updated2 dated September
8, 2019
Based on the information provided there are two possible options for site
Project Description development including construction of a new parking structure and new
medical office building.
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 2
