Continuing with the previous comment, the plans should show the support requirements of the girder truss
and any required footings.
Please see the structural drawing set and calculations for the support requirements.
4. See Sheet A2.1 and Section 1 on Sheet A4.0. It appears that over framing occurs at the location above the
existing living room.A detail should be specified showing the framing requirements and connections.
Please see the structural drawings for over-framing details.
5. See Sheet A2.1 and Section 1 on Sheet A4.0.The gable end truss appears to require diagonal bracing to resist
any out of plane loads. Also, the connection between bottom chord of gable end truss and should be provided.
R802.10.3.
Please see the structural drawings for the truss bracing requirements.
6. The drawings include work that appear to be deferred by the designer.A statement of deferred submittals
should be added listing work designated as deferred submittals(Pre-manufactured trusses). The note should
include a statement requiring the engineer-of-record or designer to review the deferred submittals and verify
conformance with the construction documents. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 107.3.4, 107.3.4.1,and 107.4.
Truss submittal requirements are found on the roof framing plan.
7. Continuing with the previous comment, the plans should specify the trusses to be designed by a professional
engineer licensed in the state Washington..
Truss design requirements are found on the roof framing plan.
8. See Sheet A2.0,A2.1,and Section 2 on Sheet A4.0. It appears the roof and ceiling of the covered walkway
outside of the entry/family room is connected to the wall that is supported on cantilevered floor joists. This
appears to be out of the scope of the prescriptive method of the IRC. Please provide calculations showing the
existing floor joists are adequate to support the additional load of the lower roof.
A beam has been added to carry this addition load. Please see the structural drawings and calculations.
9. Submitted drawings should include a foundation plan. Footing notes called out in the general notes are not an
adequate substitute for a foundation plan. Plans should show connection between new and existing
foundations. R106.1.1.
A foundation plan has been added to the set. Please see the structural foundation plan.
2
