Wise Residence
Al• Degenkoib Response to Plan Review Comments
April 1, 2021
Response: Structural calculation package has been provided with the revision set of
drawings. ,
r2!Sheet A0.1 states maximum attic floor live loads of 20 psf. The minimum floor
rw loading should be 30 psf. The loads should be revised. See Table R301.5(WAC).
Response:Attic will remain uninhabitable. Calculations and drawings have been
updated to reflect 30 psf for potential future occupancy.
The load path from the roof to the foundation is not clear. The roof framing appears
to be partially supported on the attic floor framing using knee walls per Detail 1/S4.1.
The attic floor framing does not appear to span to supports in all locations but is
supported by cantilever ends of adjacent spans; the existing floor framing size(s) is
not specified. The load path between the attic floor and the foundation appears to be
incomplete in multiple places. Calculations substantiating the load paths should be
submitted for review. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 1603.1, 1604.1, and 1604.4.
Response: Structural calculation package has been provided with revised drawings.
Existing attic floor joists above Bedroom 2 span to the wall between Bedrooms 1 and
2, they are not supported by the cantilever ends.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
.0A.ja„.
Degenkolb Engineers
Prepared By: Lisette Terry
