It is note that guards are not required per Section R312.1. If provided, details specifying the required construction should be included in the drawings. The details should include connections to the supporting structure complying with the loading criteria per Table R301.5. Additional framing and fasteners should be provided for guard connected to rim boards or other framing to complete the load path. See Section R301.1. 7. Elevation 1/A3.1 shows a new ramp; the house does not currently have a ramp (i.e., existing path is a stepped walkway). Main Plan 1/A2.1 should be revised to show the construction of a new ramp. Framing and foundations, and sections and details, should be included to specify the required construction. The ramp construction should comply with Section R311.8. See Sections R106.1.1 and R301.1, and comments for the deck above that relate to the ramp construction. This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit requirements.
