Structural: <br /> 1. Please consider biaxial bending on the PT columns and lateral action on the immediate <br /> connections according to the appropriate tributary seismic weight. At a minimum, the inertial <br /> force due to the weight of the 5%x 15 and half the weight of the columns will not be resolved by <br /> the deck diaphragm, ledger connection and existing shear wall system internal to the building. <br /> Additionally, the Simpson Wood Construction Connectors Catalogue does not provide a lateral <br /> capacity for the CCQ column caps nor the CBSQ column bases provided between the GL beam and <br /> the columns. Please provide rationale for your assumptions at these joints for the lateral design. <br /> 2. Detail 4/SC6 does not include dimensions for concrete cover. Please provide the appropriate <br /> concrete cover to the reinforcement within the pilaster. Also, it is recommended that (3) #3 <br /> transverse ties are placed in the first 5" of the concrete pilaster foundation below the timber <br /> columns.
