<br />28 <br /> <br />ARTICLE 10 - HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />Section 1: Holidays <br /> <br />The following days, or any day proclaimed by the Governor of the State of Washington as a designated <br />holiday, are hereby designated to be paid holidays for those employees covered by this Agreement in pay <br />status on the day before and the day after the holiday: <br /> <br /> New Year's Day <br /> Martin Luther King, Jr. Day <br /> Presidents' Day <br /> Memorial Day <br /> Juneteenth <br />Independence Day <br /> Labor Day <br /> Veterans' Day <br /> Thanksgiving Day <br /> Native American Heritage Day (Day After Thanksgiving Day) <br /> Christmas Day <br /> Two Floating Holidays At employee's choice with concurrence of the City <br /> <br />For the purpose of establishing the holiday shift, it shall be determined as the day on which the shift <br />starts. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday. If a holiday falls on a <br />Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday. For employees whose regular work week includes <br />Saturday and/or Sunday, when a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday said employees shall have the <br />actual holiday as their observed holiday. <br /> <br />If an observed holiday falls on an employee's regularly scheduled day off, they shall be granted an <br />additional day to be scheduled within fourteen (14) calendar days following the observed holiday for <br />employees to be off work. <br /> <br />Holiday proration for new hires: <br />Full time regular employees hired before September 30 will receive two floating holidays. Employees <br />hired between October 1 and November 30 will receive one floating holiday. Regular part-time <br />employees will receive pro-rated holiday hours based on regular work hours according to the preceding <br />schedule. <br /> <br />Regular part-time employees will receive pro-rated holiday hours based on regular work hours according <br />to the proceeding schedule. <br />FTE Hours Earned per Holiday <br />.76 up to 1.0 FTE 8 hours <br />.51 pp to .75 FTE 6 hours <br />.26 pp to .50 FTE 4 hours <br />.01 up to .25 FTE 2 hours <br /> <br />Employees may make up any difference in hours on their holiday between the holiday pay and the <br />scheduled shift within the same FLSA workweek at their regular wage rate by mutual agreement between <br />the employee and their supervisor. Employees will not receive overtime for the additional hours worked. <br /> <br />
