GeoTest Services, Inc. April 15, 2021
3617 Upland Avenue, Everett,WA Project No. 21-0375
Subsurface Soil Conditions
Subsurface conditions were explored by advancing 4 exploratory test pits on March 18, 2021.The
explorations were advanced to approximate depths of 8 and 10 feet below ground surface (BGS)
with a tracked excavator subcontracted by GeoTest. The approximate locations of these
explorations have been plotted on the Site and Exploration Plan (Figure 2).
The exploratory test pits exhibited relatively similar subsurface soil conditions throughout the
vicinity of the proposed development. GeoTest observed between approximately 2 and 7 feet of
loose topsoil and previously placed fill soils overlying native soils at depth. More fill was observed
within the southwest (upper) portions of the property than the lower portion, in which the latter
appears to contain approximately 2 feet of fill overlying relict topsoil. The fill soils observed on
site were comprised of loose to medium dense, brown to mottled gray/blue, moist, slightly
gravelly, silty to very silty, non-sorted sands with organics and rootlets. The near surface native
soils directly underlying the fill were comprised mostly of loose to medium dense, mottled brown
to weathered tan, moist very silty, massive sands with trace gravel and some rootlets, in which
GeoTest interpreted to be Transitional Beds. The soils became medium-dense to dense at
approximately 2 to 7 feet BGS to the maximum explored depth of the test pits.
More detailed logs of the subsurface conditions encountered within our exploration are
presented in the Test Pit Logs attached to the end of this report.
1.
4 ^Wy
,may • f ,. y 4 ti?M1 yr "'`.rfp w§ e
i
 ! f a
t +a
i1n a > s >;c•'+5 °*zJ 3> S t€3.'t5 y, .r>• '
ya
Image 4.Subsurface soil conditions within test pit TP-1,in which GeoTest observed 7 feet of fill.
3
