CHAPTER 3. HABITAT ASSESSMENT METHODS
' The methods used to successfully comply with Federal, State, and local shoreline assessment
requirements are detailed below. Please see Appendix A for further details of methods used in this
' report.
The subject property was investigated for the presence of fish and wildlife habitat and priority and/or
ESA listed species on November 17, 2016, by Jon Pickett, Senior Planner for SVC. Data from the
' National Wetland Inventory,Snohomish County Geographic Information Services, maps of the U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service,WDFW Priority Habitat and Species Maps, the Soil Survey of Snohomish
County, and various ground and aerial photographs were also consulted (Appendix B).
' The Snohomish River was classified using the Washington Department of Natural Resources Water
Typing System as outlined in described in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) Section 222-
16 and the guidelines established in the Everett Municipal Code;Shoreline Master Program.
Per the NMFS Biological Opinion (BiOp) for NFIP activities in the Puget Sound Basin, only five
' listed species are required to be considered (the five listed species regulated by the National Marine
Fisheries at the time of that BiOp). These are Puget Sound Chinook, Puget Sound Steelhead, Hood
Canal Summer Run Chum,Lake Ozette Sockeye, and Southern Resident Orca. This assessment report
' does consider additional, terrestrial ESA listed species.
Soundview Consultants LLC December 8,2016
1413.0003 Riverside Business ParkāFEMA ESA Habitat Assessment Report Page 8
