to seek employment opportunities with the Contractor. <br /> 7.7 Employee Training and Orientation of City's EMS System <br /> The Contractor shall coordinate with EFD to provide supervisory,field, and dispatch personnel <br /> assigned to the City with an orientation on the City's EMS System prior to field assignment. <br /> This program shall be subject to the review and approval of the EFD. Additionally,the <br /> Contractor shall grant EFD access to information regarding the Contractor's personnel, <br /> equipment and operation to assure compliance with contract terms for these areas. <br /> 7.8 Character and Competence of Personnel <br /> The Contractor shall ensure that its personnel conduct themselves in a professional and courteous <br /> manner. The Contractor's personnel shall be competent,holders of required permits or <br /> certificates in their respective trades or professions and shall undergo background checks and <br /> drug testing as a condition of employment. The City may demand the removal of any employee <br /> or subcontractor of the Contractor for misconduct or incompetent or negligent performance. <br /> Such persons shall not be allowed to perform services on this contract with the City without the <br /> written consent of the City. <br /> 8.0 Additional Contactor Responsibilities <br /> 8.1 Outside Work <br /> The Contractor may do other work within the City limits(e.g., scheduled transports,non- <br /> ambulance medical transportation, special event standby coverage, HMO/Government contract <br /> work, etc.),provided the outside work does not negatively affect the Contractor's peak load <br /> capacity, disaster readiness, and overall efficiency, and does not detract from the Contractor's <br /> contractual obligations to the City. <br /> Requests for service and/or contractual obligations outside of the city in other regions which <br /> would draw down the Contractor's resources below 125% of peak coverage will be subject to <br /> approval by EFD. <br /> 8.2 Major Emergency and Disaster Response within the City of Everett Limits <br /> The Contractor acknowledges that the City is entering into an Contract with the Contractor for <br /> the benefit of the public. The Contractor shall consider the City as its first priority and shall <br /> make its best effort to provide BLS services to the City in a timely manner. The Contractor shall <br /> develop a plan for the immediate recall of personnel to staff units during multi-casualty <br /> situations;times of peak overload, or major emergency and disaster situations. This plan shall <br /> include the ability of the Contractor to alert off-duty personnel. <br /> 13 of 34 1 3 <br />
