' 2.0 WETLAND AND STREAM CLASSIFICATIONS
' 2.1 COWARDIN SYSTEM CLASSIFICATIONS
The wetland and stream classifications applicable to this site according to the Cowardin System,
as described in Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States, are as
' follows:
Wetlands A - C: Palustrine, Forested Wetland, Broad-leaved Deciduous, Saturated
Wetland D: Palustrine, Scrub -Shrub Wetland, Broad-leaved Deciduous, Saturated
' Stream A: Riverine, Lower Perennial, Unconsolidated Bottom, Cobble-Gravel/Mud
Stream B: Riverine, Intermittent, Streambed, Mud
' 2.2 CITY OF EVERETT CLASSIFICATIONS
Under the City of Everett's Municipal Code, Chapter 37, the on -site wetlands and off -site
streams are classified as follows:
Wetland A (Category II): This small (2,155 sq. ft.), forested, depressional wetland received a
total score for functions of 57 points with a habitat score of 19 on the DOE Wetland Rating Form for
Western Washington (Version 2). Category II wetlands with habitat scores of 19 typically receive 75-
foot protective buffers.
Wetland B (Category III): This small (171 sq. ft.), forested, depressional wetland received a
' total score for functions of 35 points with a habitat score of 13 on the DOE Wetland Rating Form for
Western Washington (Version 2). Category III wetlands with habitat scores of less than 19 typically
receive 60-foot protective buffers.
' Wetland C (Category II): This small (3,577 sq. ft.), forested, depressional wetland received a
total score for functions of 51 points with a habitat score of 19 on the DOE Wetland Rating Form for
Western Washington (Version 2). North of 5th Street, the classification
changes to a Type F. Due to buffer conditions, the Type N section of the stream requires a 50'
buffer and the Type F section requires 150' buffers.
' Streams B & C: These streams are mapped by Washington Department of Natural Resources
as a Type N streams. Due to intact buffer conditions, these streams require 50' buffers.
Critical Area Study 3 WRI# 15202
Soundview Business Campus Rev. #2: October 2, 2015
