I appreciate the time. Below is
a summary of our conversation so that the team is in the loop. Please feel free to correct or add anything that I missed.
1. Fire Flow - The required fire flow per the pre -application meeting was stated to be 2,500 gpm. As we discussed,
Public Works ran a model with 8-inch pipe connecting to Sound Avenue and in 36"' Ave. and the flow was 2,456
gpm with all of the negative factors assumed; i.e. peak summer day, peak flows, etc. Per our conversation, this
fire flow will be adequate for the proposed project. We will request the model from Public Works and begin to
design the water plans.
2. Hydrant distance to FDC — we will need to provide a hydrant within 100 feet of any fire dept. connection to the
buildings. Currently our concept plan showed hydrants within 50 feet or so, therefore we should be okay.
3. Minimum inside turning radii for Emergency Vehicle Access — per our discussion, inside turning radii shall be
between 32-35 feet minimum. We will review the site plan and make any minor modifications to meet that
requirement.
Thank you again and we look forward to working with you more on this project.
Regards,
Tom Dargan, P.E., Assoc.
