Access - The International Fire Code requires that all new structures shall provide Fire <br /> Department access roads to within 150 feet exterior walking distance of all portions of the <br /> ground floor. Fire Department access roads (Fire Lanes) shall provide a minimum of 20 feet in <br /> width of unobstructed, paved driving surface, exclusive of shoulders, with a minimum clear <br /> height of 13'6". Inside turn radii must be 35 feet. Outside turn radii must be 55 feet. Slope <br /> approach and departure angles must not exceed 8 degrees. Fire lane grade must not <br /> exceed 10 percent. Fire lane construction must comply with AASHTO H30 load capacity <br /> (74,000 GVW). Fire Lanes will be posted and maintained as required by the Fire Department. <br /> Unorthodox access which meets code requirements but is too unusual for crews will not <br /> be allowed. <br /> 2. Access - O.K. as shown on the site plan reviewed. <br /> 3. Knox Boxes are required. Order through www.everettfire.orq. Two boxes per building will be <br /> required, to be located at the main lobby entrance and at the sprinkler/alarm room. Please <br /> order Model #3262. <br /> 4. Knox fire department connection caps are required for all OUTSIDE FDC and standpipe <br /> connection points. Please order Model #3042. <br /> 5. Per field inspection by the Fire Marshal's Office - Fire lanes shall be provided as required in <br /> Everett Municipal Code 46.44. Fire lanes shall be identified by red curbs with white stenciling <br /> stating "NO PARKING - FIRE LANE" and vertical signs stating "NO PARKING — FIRE LANE — <br /> TOW AWAY ZONE— EMC 46.28.130". Location shall be approved by the Fire Code Official. <br /> 6. Premise Identification - Premises shall be clearly identified by the correct address at the street <br /> entry. Buildings shall be clearly identified so as to be visible and legible from the access road. <br /> Individual apartments and suites, where applicable, shall be clearly and legibly identified from <br /> the access road. See EMC 16.03, Section 505.1.1 (Address Posting Policy). <br /> Large numbers visible from a distance of 500 feet will be required. <br /> 7.
