4.1.11 Pedestrian Connections: <br />Intent: To create a network of safe and attractive linkages far <br />pedestrians. <br />Guidelines: Within parking lots, between a public right-of-way <br />and building entrances, and between parking lots and <br />building entrances, clearly defined pedestrian connections <br />should be provided. <br />• Pedestrian connections :;an be counted toward the amount of <br />required landscaping. <br />• Pedestrian connections shall not be less than five feet wide. <br />• Pedestrian connections shall be clearly defined by at least two of <br />the following: <br />- A six-inch vertical curb, <br />- Textured paving, including across vehicular lanes, <br />or <br />- A continuous landscape area at a minimum of three <br />feet wide on at least one side of the walkway. <br />• Elevated pedestrian connections should be constructed across 13th <br />Street to link hospital and clinical facilities. <br />4.1.12 Rooftop Mechanical Equipment: <br />Intent: To ensare that rooftop mechanical equipment is screened to <br />respect the residential neighborhood character. <br />
