EVALUATION FOR
AGENCY USE ONLY
Construction noise would be temporary in nature. According to the Everett
Municipal Code (EMC) 20.08.100(B)(3) ...B. The following sources of noise
are partially exempt from the provisions of this chapter: (3) Noise emanating
from temporary construction sites is exempt or partially exempt from the
provisions of this chapter except between the hours of ten p.m. and seven a.m.
on weekdays and six p.m. and eight a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and state
recognized holidays if the receiving property is located within District I of the
city. PRMC is required to comply with these hours of construction and would
only be allowed to operate from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday
and between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekends and Holidays.
Activity
Leq (in decibels)
Clearing
71
Grading
63 - 76
Paving
60 - 76
Types of Equipment Range of Noise Levels
Bulldozer 65 - 84
Dump Truck 70 - 82
Paver 74 - 76
Generators 59 - 70
Compressors 62 - 69
These noise levels would be short-term and in many cases of short duration.
Noise generated from construction is exempt from the City noise regulations as
previously noted.
3) Proposed measures to reduce or control noise impacts, if any:
The hours of construction would be limited to those allowed by code, thereby
reducing impacts into the more sensitive evening and early morning areas.
8. LAND AND SHORELINE USE
a. What is the current use of the site and adjacent properties? Will the proposal
affect current land uses on nearby or adjacent properties? If so, describe.
The site is currently used as a parking lot and PRMC's Central Utility Plant.
The current uses of the adjacent properties to the northwest, north, east and southeast
are single-family residential. The existing Providence Campus borders the site on
the south and west.
b. Has the project site been used as working farmlands or working forest lands?
If so, describe. How much agricultural or forest land of long-term commercial
significance will be converted to other uses as a result of the proposal, if any? If
resource lands have not been designated, how many acres in farmland or forest
land tax status will be converted to nonfarm or nonforest use?
Environmental Checklist — Providence Regional Medical Center Everett — North Site Page 18
© SHnCKEI'
