The <br /> wall should be modified to provide a header. King and jamb studs should be specified on each <br /> side. A section through the header depicting the support and connection of the wall and roof <br /> joists above should be included. The construction should comply with Sections R602.7 and <br /> R602.7.5. Alternatively, and engineered design may be performed per Section R301.1.3. See <br /> Section R106.1.1. <br /> 6. The construction drawings do not include details for new construction. See IRC Section <br /> R106.1.1 and Table 602.3(1). Details should be provided for the following: <br /> a. New interior non-bearing walls. Details should include top and bottom connections to the <br /> supporting framing. Connections at the ceiling should not be made through the GWB (i.e., <br /> connection wall framing directly to ceiling framing). <br /> b. Blocking between ceiling framing to laterally support walls below. <br /> c. Exterior wall infills. <br /> This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br /> amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br /> during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br /> requirements.
