CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />LS47-Beverly Lake Sewer Replacement Division 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS January 30, 2025 <br />WO No – UP3529 SP – 107 <br />701 75th St SE Shoreside Village – Construction at Shoreside Village shall be accessed <br />through the NW corner of the Shoreside Apartment parking lot. Contractor shall secure <br />and safeguard work on Shoreside Village site at the end of each work day. Impacts to <br />this property must be planned and shared with the City at each weekly Progress <br />Meeting. Impact Planning should include Task Description; Pedestrian & Parking <br />Impacts; Traffic Control Plans; and Schedule of Activities <br /> <br />Upon completion of pipe installation and trench backfilling to specifications, promptly <br />restore street, driveway and sidewalk surfaces using Temporary Pavement Patch in <br />accordance with Section 5-06.3(6) TEMPORARY PAVEMENT PATCHING and permit <br />public use and access for City inspection activities. <br />Parking spaces are normally very limited in most areas of the project and the Contractor <br />will be required to cooperate with the City and Property Owners in resolving parking <br />issues and traffic flow. In general, businesses and residents who rely on private property <br />parking and are displaced by the construction shall be given notice through the City <br />weekly in advance of unavailability of parking, duration of parking disruption so the <br />property owner can provide for the nearest available parking location alternative. The <br />Contractor’s employees will be required to park their personal vehicles away from the <br />area of construction. <br />This 1-8.4(2) is not a complete list of all constraints that may be in the Contract <br />Documents. Contractor is responsible for all constraints in the Contract Documents. <br />1-08.5 Time for Completion <br />Delete all of 1-08.5 and substitute the following: <br />1-08.5(1) General <br />The Contractor shall complete all physical Contract Work within the number of “working <br />days” stated in the Contract Provisions or as extended by the Engineer in accordance <br />with Section 1-08.8. Every day will be counted as a “working day” unless it is a <br />nonworking day or an Engineer determined unworkable day. A nonworking day is <br />defined as a Saturday, a Sunday, a whole or half day on which the Contract specifically <br />prohibits Work on the critical path of the Contractor’s approved progress schedule, or <br />one of these holidays: January 1, the third Monday of January, the third Monday of <br />February, Memorial Day, June 19, July 4, Labor Day, November 11, Thanksgiving Day, <br />the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. When any of these holidays fall on a <br />Sunday, the following Monday shall be counted a nonworking day. When the holiday <br />falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be counted a nonworking day. The days <br />between December 25 and January 1 will be classified as nonworking days. <br />An unworkable day is defined as a half or whole day the Engineer declares to be <br />unworkable because of weather or conditions caused by the weather that prevents <br />satisfactory and timely performance of the Work shown on the critical path of the <br />Contractor’s approved progress schedule. Other conditions beyond the control of the <br />Contractor may qualify for an extension of time in accordance with Section 1-08.8. <br />Contract Time shall begin on the effective date of the Notice to Proceed. The Contract <br />Documents may specify another starting date for Contract Time, in which case, Contract <br />Time will begin on the starting date the Contract Documents specify. <br />Each working day shall be charged to the Contract as it occurs, beginning on the <br />effective date of the Notice to Proceed, unless otherwise provided in the Contract <br />Documents, until the Contract Work is physically complete. Each week the Engineer <br />will provide the Contractor a statement that shows the number of working days: (1) <br />charged to the Contract the week before; (2) specified for the physical completion of the
