CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />LS 47 – Beverly Lake Sewer ReplacementDivision B – BID DESCRIPTIONS January 30, 2025 <br />WO No. – UP3529 SP - 15 <br /> <br />The unit contract price for PVC SIDE SEWER LATERAL, 6-Inch Diam., shall constitute full <br />compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install <br />the pipe, restrained joints (where shown on the Plans or as required by the Standard <br />Specifications and Special Provisions), and all fittings, including tees, crosses, reducers, <br />couplings, material transitions and sleeves required for complete installation along the run of <br />each pipe size, as shown on the Plans and specified herein, and additionally, shall include, <br />but not be limited to, the following: <br />(i) Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other Bid <br />Items. This shall include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of the <br />existing asphalt or concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, <br />miscellaneous landscaping, and sod as indicated on the Plans. <br />(j) All required potholing to verify locations of water service crossings and existing <br />utilities. The costs for potholing and excavation required to determine exact <br />depths and locations of other utilities shall be included with this Work with no <br />direct compensation made. <br />(k) Utility or light pole holding in conformance with the requirements of the applicable <br />utility including, if necessary, arranging for the utility to hold poles and paying the <br />associated fees. <br />(l) Where trench excavation is proposed, dewatering, installation of pipe, furnishing, <br />placing, and compacting sand backfill for pipe bedding, furnishing, placing and <br />compacting suitable native material for trench backfill and placing and <br />compacting imported backfill material. No extra payment shall be made for <br />removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of displaced and unsuitable material. <br />(m) Maintenance, restoration and/or relocation, if required, of existing culverts, storm <br />drainage pipe, other utilities and structures affected by construction that are to <br />remain. <br />(n) Ethafoam pads or sand backfill between sewer and other pipes. <br />(o) Maintenance of existing sewer and provisions for interim service. <br />(p) Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear <br />known buried utilities or other known obstacles. <br /> <br />Bid Item 29 - Manhole, Type 3, 48-inch DIA. <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Each (EA) <br />The unit price per each manhole shall be full compensation for all labor, material, tools and <br />equipment necessary to satisfactorily complete the work as defined in these Contract <br />Documents. <br />The unit price per each manhole shall be full compensation for furnishing, hauling, and <br />assembling in place the completed installation including all manholes, frames and covers, <br />pipe connections, special fittings, joint materials and penetrations. <br />The unit price of per each manhole shall also include, but not be limited to, all costs for <br />excavation; hauling and disposing of surplus or unsuitable material; dewatering; sewer flow <br />bypassing; furnishing and installing couplings; furnishing and installing steps or ladder; <br />placing and compacting native backfill; furnishing, placing, and compacting foundation <br />material as required; cleaning and flushing manholes; reconnecting existing sanitary sewer <br />connections; and replacing, protecting and maintaining utilities. <br />All costs associated with abandoning and/or removing and disposing of existing manholes <br />as shown on the plans shall be included in the unit price for this bid item.
