Kimley>Morn
Trip Generation
The trip generation for the Development is based on counts at a similar site located at 1427 2281h Street
SE in the City of Bothell. The Bothell site is in a similar location as the Everett site with surrounding
commercial uses and residential uses in close proximity. The Bothell site is 1,155 SF and counts were
collected between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM for three consecutive days, Tuesday, December 5, 2023
through Thursday, December 7, 2023. The counts were collected by the independent count firm Traffic
Data Gathering (TDG). The trips at the existing Bothell site are summarized in Table 1.
Table 1: Trip Generation Data — Bothell Site
Count Date JMWW71
Tuesday
7
8
15
December 5, 2023
Wednesday
12
11
23
December 6, 2023
Thursday
7
11
18
December 6, 2023
Average
9
10
19
Splits
47%
53%
100%
Trip Generation Rate
16.45 trips per 1,000 SF
City of Everett staff identified that the pass -by rate published by the Institute of Transportation
Engineers (ITE) for fast-food with drive -through could be applied to the trip generation. The pass -by
rate accounts for existing vehicles currently on the roadway that will travel to and from the Development.
These are not new trips generated by the Development but are part of the trips counted at the Bothell
site. The ITE pass -by rate is 55% for the weekday PM peak -hour. The trip generation rate developed
from the data collected at the Bothell site has been applied to the Development. The trip generation of
the Development using the data collected in Bothell and the 55% pass -by reduction is summarized in
Table 2.
