2025 PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE OVERLAY SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />PW# 3830 <br /> SP-30 March 26, 2025 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />1-08.0 Preliminary Matters 2 <br />(May 25, 2006 APWA GSP) 3 <br /> 4 <br />1-08.0(1).RTF 5 <br />Add the following new section: 6 <br /> 7 <br />1-08.0(1) Preconstruction Conference 8 <br />(July 8, 2024APWA GSP) 9 <br /> 10 <br />Prior to the Contractor beginning the work, a preconstruction conference will be held 11 <br />between the Contractor, the Engineer and such other interested parties as may be 12 <br />invited. The purpose of the preconstruction conference will be: 13 <br />1. To review the initial progress schedule; 14 <br />2. To establish a working understanding among the various parties associated or 15 <br />affected by the work; 16 <br />3. To establish and review procedures for progress payment, notifications, approvals, 17 <br />submittals, etc.; 18 <br />4. To review DBE Requirements, Training Plans, and Apprenticeship Plans, when 19 <br />applicable. 20 <br />5. To establish normal working hours for the work; 21 <br />6. To review safety standards and traffic control; and 22 <br />7. To discuss such other related items as may be pertinent to the work. 23 <br /> 24 <br />The Contractor shall prepare and submit at the preconstruction conference the following: 25 <br />1. A breakdown of all lump sum items; 26 <br />2. A preliminary schedule of working drawing submittals; and 27 <br />3. A list of material sources for approval if applicable. 28 <br /> 29 <br />F1-08.0(2).docx 30 <br />Add the following new section: 31 <br /> 32 <br />1-08.0(2) Hours of Work 33 <br />(December 8, 2014 APWA GSP) 34 <br /> 35 <br />Except in the case of emergency or unless otherwise approved by the Engineer, the 36 <br />normal working hours for the Contract shall be any consecutive 8-hour period 37 <br />between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m, or as required by section F1-07.23(1). Monday 38 <br />through Friday, exclusive of a lunch break. If the Contractor desires different than the 39 <br />normal working hours stated above, the request must be submitted in writing prior to 40 <br />the preconstruction conference, subject to the provisions below. The working hours 41 <br />for the Contract shall be established at or prior to the preconstruction conference. 42 <br /> 43 <br />All working hours and days are also subject to local permit and ordinance conditions 44 <br />(such as noise ordinances). 45 <br /> 46 <br />If the Contractor wishes to deviate from the established working hours, the Contractor 47 <br />shall submit a written request to the Engineer for consideration. This request shall 48 <br />state what hours are being requested, and why. Requests shall be submitted for 49
