infection, to appoint women physicians for said purposes where the <br /> services of a woman physician are requested or demanded by the per- <br /> son demanded - / <br /> (d) In cases of quarantine or isolation, not to terminate said <br /> quarantine or isolation until the cases have become non-infectious,. <br /> or until permission has been given by the city Board of Health. <br /> (e) Cases of bonococcus infection are to be regarded as infec- <br /> tious until at least two successive smears taken not less than <br /> forty-eight hours apart fail to show gonococci. <br /> (f) Inasmuch as prostitution is the most prolific source of <br /> syphilis and gonococcus infection, the Health Officer and all other <br /> officers shall use every proper weans of suppressing the same, and <br /> all such officers are hereby prohibited from issuing certificates <br /> or other evidence of freedom from venereal diseases except as prov- <br /> ided in Section 12. <br /> (g) To keep all records of said inspections and examinations <br /> from public inspection, and to make every reasonable effort to keep <br /> secret the identity of those affected by venereal disease control <br /> measures as far as may be consistent with the protection of the <br /> public health. <br /> Section 10: DETENTION HOSPITAL: It shall be the duty of the <br /> Health Officer to use only such building or buildings for quarantine <br /> purposes under this ordinance as shall be first provided or accepted <br /> by the city council. The Health Officer shall make suitable admin- <br /> istrative rules for the conduct of said hospital. <br /> Section 11: QUARANTINE: Whenever it is necessary for the pro- <br /> tection of the public health that persons infected with venereal <br /> diseases be quarantined the Health Officer shall quarantine etch <br /> diseased persons in said detention hospitals or in their place of <br /> residence, and cause to be administered to such persona a proper <br /> course of treatment. <br />
