',Section 2: Any person offering goods, wares or merchan- <br /> dise for sale by outcry on any street, alley, public place, or <br /> vacant lot, or who shall conduct business at any stand or wagon <br /> on such place shall be deemed a hawker; provided that this shall <br /> not apply to auctioneers. Any person offering to sell goods,wares, <br /> or merchandise on order for future delivery,or otherwise sell or <br /> offer to sell the same by traveling from place to place in this <br /> city; or obtaining or attempting to obtain any picture, photograph, <br /> or portrait from any residence of this city for the purpose of mak- <br /> ing therefrom an enlargement, miniature or other reproduction, shall <br /> be deemed a peddler and canvasser; provided, however, that this <br /> shall not be deemed to include regular commercial travelers employed <br /> by wholesale houses and selling goods, wares and merchandise of <br /> this city, nor the solicitors of regular grocers and butchers of <br /> said city taking orders from house to house, nor to solicitors of <br /> other regular merchants of said city taking orders in the business <br /> and manufacturing portions of the city; and, provided, further, <br /> that this shall not apply to nor include any person peddling news- <br /> papers or magazine, or to allyskuson peddling fruits, vegetables, <br /> berries, butter, milk, eggs, farm product or edibles caught, raised, <br /> producedNor manufactured by such person. " <br /> Section 3: That Section 6 of said ordinance No. 1598 be, <br /> and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 6: No such license shall authorize the sale of <br /> prize packages, or the distribution of any article or thing in <br /> any form by ohande or lot, and every person engaged in the business <br /> 1 <br /> of hawker, peddler, or canvasser within said city of Everett shall, <br /> on or before delve o 'clock,noon, of each day furnish to the chief <br /> of police a report of his business on the proceeding day, which <br /> report shall contain a statement of the number of each house at <br /> which he called during said day, and the result of his call at <br /> said house. He shall further furnish a complete statement of all <br /> sales made by him during each day, showing the name of the person <br /> to whom sales were made, of from whom articles were obtained,and <br />
