THESE PROVISIONS OUTLINE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PLAIN CONCRETE FOUNDATION WALLS <br />LOCATED IN SEISMIC DESIGN CATEGORIES DO, D1 & D2. AS A RECAP OF THE CODE THE FOUNDATION SHALL <br />COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING: <br />1. WALL HEIGHT SHALL NOT EXCEED 8 FT. <br />2. UNBALANCED BACKFILL HEIGHT SHALL NOT EXCEED 4 FT. <br />3. MINIMUM REINFORCEMENT FOR PLAIN CONCRETE FOUNDATION WALL SHALL CONSIST OF ONE <br />NO. 4 HORIZONTAL BAR LOCATED IN THE UPPER 12 INCHES OF THE WALL. <br />4. MINIMUM THICKNESS FOR PLAIN CONCRETE FOUNDATION WALL SHALL BE 7.5 INCHES EXCEPT <br />THAT 6 INCHES IS PERMITTED WHEN THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT IS 4 FT, 6 INCHES <br />5.
