May 7, 2025 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., May 7, 2025, by <br />President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Zarlingo, Fosse, Bader, <br />Rhyne, Vogeli, Tuohy, and President Schwab were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Fosse recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the April 30, 2025 meeting were approved. <br /> <br />President Schwab moved Agenda Items No. 6 from Consent Items to Action Items. <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on the utilization of apprentices on public work construction <br />projects ordinance and addressed questions that have been circulating regarding the legislation <br />passed in Olympia allowing a merger between Everett Transit and Community Transit. Mayor <br />Franklin stated that the City of Everett is not actively considering a merger at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on her attendance at the Mayor’s Innovation Project <br />Pedestrian Safety Cohort in Washington D.C. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on the Edgewater Bridge delay and invited Ryan Sass and <br />Tom Hood from Public Works to provide an update. Mayor Franklin issued a proclamation <br />declaring May 2025 as Bike Month and invited Brock Howell to accept the proclamation and <br />provide a few words. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin also provided comments on the tragic loss of the 13-year-old child earlier this <br />week. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The Council received one (1) written comment, and the following members of the public spoke: <br />Annie Lalone, Timothy Chipman, Jo Newland, Mark Simpson, Nel Anderson, Joe Kunzler, Ian <br />McMillian, Steve McKenzie, Carl and Laura Agne, Patty Manning, Tyler Beckley, Carpenter Chuck, <br />Bonnie Townsend, and Laurie McMillian <br /> <br />
