(ASI) regarding Cryptosporidium and Giardia <br />monitoring. ASI understands that you collect two samples per month, plus one additional sample <br />quarterly, and do two or three matrix spikes per year (typically in July). It is understood that you will <br />supply Envirochek HV filters and cubitainers for all samples. <br /> <br />Laboratory Certification <br /> <br />ASI’s primary TNI/NELAC accreditation is through the Florida Dept. of Health and is the basis for our <br />continued EPA Approval for Cryptosporidium analysis for LT2 compliance. ASI is approved to perform LT2 <br />compliance analyses for utilities in more than 20 states – including secondary accreditation from the <br />Washington State Department of Ecology. <br /> <br />Qualifications and Experience <br /> <br />Background – Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) is a full service environmental microbiology laboratory <br />located in Williston, VT. Our primary business has been serving the public water supply industry with <br />microbiological testing, research and consulting services for more than 30 years. <br /> <br />Incorporated in 1993, ASI is one of the oldest commercial environmental microbiology laboratories in <br />the United States offering protozoan analyses. This period includes service to our clients throughout the <br />Information Collection Rule (ICR) compliance period and Rounds 1 and 2 of the Long Term 2 Enhanced <br />Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2). During LT2, ASI served more than 400 Public Water Suppliers, <br />analyzing more than 25,000 Cryptosporidium samples. <br /> <br />ASI is nationally recognized as an expert laboratory for protozoa analysis. Accordingly, we have been <br />involved in numerous EPA-sponsored protozoa research projects, including the USEPA’s multi-laboratory <br />validations of EPA Method 1623.1, Method 1623 and Method 1622, as well as Method 1693 validation <br />for wastewater. <br />
