<br />FIVE DAYS WRITTEN ADVANCE NOTICE SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE ENGINEER. DELIVERY
<br />SHALL OCCUR DURING THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M. MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
<br />EQUIPMENT DAMAGED DURING REMOVAL OR DELIVERY SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED
<br />TO THE ENGINEER'S SATISFACTION AT NO COST TO THE CONTRACTING AGENCY.
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR UNLOADING THE EQUIPMENT WHERE
<br />DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER AT THE DELIVERY SITE.
<br />CONTRACTOR OWNED REMOVALS
<br />ALL REMOVALS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, WHICH ARE NOT DESIGNATED TO
<br />REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTING AGENCY, SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF
<br />THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT. ALL CONCRETE SIGNAL
<br />POLES, LUMINAIRES, AND OTHER EQUIPMENT NOT LISTED ABOVE SHALL BE THE PROPERTY
<br />OF THE CONTRACTOR AND REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT.
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL:
<br />REMOVE ALL WIRES FOR DISCONTINUED CIRCUITS FROM THE CONDUIT SYSTEM.
<br />REMOVE ELBOW SECTIONS OF ABANDONED CONDUIT ENTERING JUNCTION BOXES.
<br />ABANDONED CONDUIT ENCOUNTERED DURING EXCAVATION SHALL BE REMOVED TO THE
<br />NEAREST OUTLETS OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.
<br />REMOVE FOUNDATIONS ENTIRELY, UNLESS THE PLANS STATE OTHERWISE.
<br />BACKFILL VOIDS CREATED BY REMOVAL OF FOUNDATIONS AND JUNCTION BOXES.
<br />BACKFILLING AND COMPACTION SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
<br />2-09.3(1)E.
<br />ADJUST JUNCTION BOX:
<br />SECTION 8-20.3(6) IS SUPPLEMENTED WITH THE FOLLOWING:
<br />STANDARD DUTY PULL BOXES, CABLE VAULTS AND CONCRETE JUNCTION BOXES INSTALLED
<br />IN SIDEWALKS, WALKWAYS AND SHARED USE PATHS SHALL HAVE SLIP RESISTANT
<br />SURFACES, BE FLUSH WITH SURFACE AND MATCH GRADE OF THE SIDEWALK, WALKWAY
<br />AND SHARED USE PATH. THE BOXES, VAULTS AND JUNCTION BOXES SHALL NOT BE
<br />PLACED IN CURB RAMPS, CURB RAMP LANDINGS, OR THE GUTTER AREAS ASSOCIATED
<br />WITH THE CURB RAMPS. STANDARD DUTY NON —CONCRETE JUNCTION BOXES SHALL NOT
<br />BE INSTALLED IN SIDEWALKS, WALKWAYS OR SHARED USE PATHS.
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST EXISTING JUNCTION BOX TO NEW GRADE BY ADJUSTING
<br />GRAVEL PAD, IN ACCORDANCE TO WSDOT STANDARD DRAWINGS J-40 SERIES AND SHALL
<br />BE OF THE TYPE INDICATED IN THE PLANS. THE ADJUSTMENT OPERATIONS SHALL BE
<br />CONDUCTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO ANY CONDUITS. ALL PARTS OR MATERIALS DAMAGED
<br />AS A RESULT OF THE CONTRACTOR'S OPERATIONS SHALL BE REPLACED AT NO EXPENSE
<br />TO THE CONTRACTING AGENCY.
<br />IF THE JUNCTION BOX IS REMOVED AND RESET, THE PATCH MATERIAL USED AROUND THE
<br />JUNCTION BOX SHALL BE THE SAME AS THE ADJACENT PAVEMENT. FOR ASPHALT
<br />CONCRETE PAVEMENT ROADWAYS, JUNCTION BOXES LOCATED IN THE TRAVELED WAY SHALL
<br />BE ADJUSTED TO FINAL GRADE AFTER FINAL PAVING IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
<br />5-04.3(13). FOR PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE PAVEMENT ROADWAYS, VALVE BOXES
<br />SHALL BE ADJUSTED PRIOR TO THE SURFACE FINISH.
<br />ALL JUNCTION BOXES AND VAULTS PLACED IN SIDEWALK OR PEDESTRIAN PATH SHALL
<br />MEET A GAP ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENT OF NO MORE THAN �/2❑ WIDE WITH GREATER THAN
<br />1/❑ DEEP DEPRESSION. ANY JUNCTION BOXES OR VAULTS THAT DO NOT MEET THE GAP
<br />ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENT WILL BE REJECTED.
<br />ALL JUNCTION BOXES AND VAULTS INSTALLED IN SIDEWALK AREAS SHALL HAVE NON—SKID
<br />COVERS. BOTH THE SLIP —RESISTANT LID AND SLIP —RESISTANT FRAME SHALL BE TREATED
<br />WITH MEBAC#1 AS MANUFACTURED BY IKG INDUSTRIES, OR SLIPNOT GRADE 3—COARSE AS
<br />MANUFACTURED BY W.S. MOLNAR CO, OR SAFTRAX TH604 BY THERMION, INC. WHERE THE
<br />EXPOSED PORTION OF THE FRAME IS �h INCH WIDE OR LESS THE SLIP —RESISTANT
<br />TREATMENT MAY BE OMITTED ON THAT PORTION OF THE FRAME. THE SLIP —RESISTANT LID
<br />SHALL BE IDENTIFIED WITH PERMANENT MARKING ON THE UNDERSIDE INDICATING THE TYPE
<br />OF SURFACE TREATMENT (❑M 1 ❑ FOR MEBAC#1 ; OR 11S311FOR SLIPNOT GRADE 3—COARSE,
<br />OR TH FOR THERMION) AND THE YEAR MANUFACTURED. THE PERMANENT MARKING SHALL
<br />BE 1/8 INCH LINE THICKNESS FORMED WITH A MILD STEEL WELD BEAD.
<br />CABLE RACKING IN PULL BOXES AND CABLE VAULTS
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RACK THE CABLE IN VERTICAL FIGURE EIGHT LOOPS, WHICH
<br />SHALL PERMIT PULLING SLACK FROM THE VAULTS WITHOUT INTRODUCING TWIST TO THE
<br />CABLE.
<br />CABLES SHALL BE SECURED IN RACKED POSITIONS WITH NYLON TIES. IDENTIFICATION OR
<br />WARNING TAGS SHALL BE SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE CABLES IN AT LEAST TWO
<br />LOCATIONS IN EACH PULL BOX OR CABLE VAULT.
<br />ALL COILED CABLE SHALL BE PROTECTED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CABLE AND
<br />FIBERS. RACKING SHALL INCLUDE SECURING CABLES TO BRACKETS (RACKING HARDWARE)
<br />THAT EXTEND FROM THE SIDE WALLS OF THE PULL BOX.
<br />ALL RACKING HARDWARE SHALL BE STAINLESS STEEL.
