June 11, 2025 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., June 11, 2025, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Zarlingo, Fosse, Bader, <br />Rhyne, Vogeli, Tuohy, and President Schwab were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the June 4, 2025 meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin informed the public that the NAACP will be hosting a Juneteenth event at Martha <br />Lake Park in Lynnwood on June 14th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additionally, the Snohomish County <br />Campus will hold a flag-raising ceremony for the Juneteenth flag on June 18th from 3:00 p.m. <br />to4:00 p.m. The Mayor also expressed condolences for the loss of community member Marilyn <br />Quincy. <br /> <br /> <br />FIREFIGHTER INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The following firefighters were introduced and sworn in: Doug Connelly, Drew Davison, Zach <br />Gillis, Josef Konek, Devan Linson, Nick Mardesich, Josh Swanson, Casey Wildgrube. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The Council received sixty-nine (69) written comments, and the following members of the public <br />spoke: Alvaro Guillen, Melinda Cervantes, Esmeralda Rivas, Nick Eckert, Rich Ryan, Demi <br />Chatters, Dr. Jonathan Shapiro, and Jillian Walker. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Several council members thanked the public commenters and congratulated the new firefighters. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne participated in the “Together We Can End Gun Violence” conference, <br />delivered the keynote speech at the Housing Consortium of Everett’s 2025 HCESC Affordable
