This type of <br />housing aims to provide a supportive living environment that addresses the individual needs of its <br />residents, facilitating their independence, safety, and overall quality of life. <br />Stormwater — Precipitation that does not infiltrate into the soil, or evaporate, but flows over the <br />surface into a stormwater drainage system or directly to a surface water body. <br />Street Classification — Ordering system of city streets according to their function. <br />Streetscape — Design and visual elements of a street, including the road, buildings, sidewalks <br />landscaping, trees, street furniture, signs, and lighting that combine to create the street’s character and <br />feel. <br />Subarea — Section of the city with its own characteristics or specific planning needs, used for targeted <br />and/or detailed planning efforts. <br />Supportive and Transitional Housing — Residential facility intended to house individuals and families <br />experiencing homelessness, or at imminent risk of homelessness and paired with on-site or offsite <br />supportive services designed to maintain long-term or permanent tenancy, or transition the residents to <br />other living arrangements, if appropriate. <br />Sustainability – Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future <br />generations to meet their own needs. <br />Sustainable Community – Meets the needs of its current residents without compromising the ability of <br />future generations to meet their own needs, focusing on environmental, economic, and social well- <br />being through responsible resource management and community participation. <br />Sustainable Development — Balancing economic and physical growth with the safeguarding of <br />environmental resources for future generations. <br />Third Places — Places people go to when they are neither home nor at work that are seen as spaces to <br />provide connection and build community.
