A development site may contain more <br />than one cluster. <br />2. Common Open Space Requirements. 1 <br />a. Shall abut at least fifty percent of the cottages in a cottage housing development. 2 <br />b. Shall have cottages abutting on at least two sides of the common open space. 3 <br />c. Cottages shall be oriented around and have an entry facing the common open space. 4 <br />d. Cottages shall be within sixty feet walking distance of the common open space. 5 <br />3. Required private open space shall be adjacent to each dwelling unit and for the exclusive use 6 <br />of the cottage resident(s). The private space shall be: 7 <br />a. Usable (not on a steep slope). 8 <br />b. Oriented toward the common open space as much as possible. 9 <br />c. No dimension less than ten feet. 10 <br />4. Cottage facades facing the common open space or common pathway shall feature a roofed 11 <br />porch at least eighty square feet in size with a minimum dimension of six feet on any side. 12 <br />5. Parking shall be: 13 <br />a. Located on the same property as the cottage development. 14 <br />b. Screened from public streets and adjacent residentfal uses by landscaping or 15 <br />architectural screening. 16 <br />c. Located in clusters of not more than five adjoining spaces (except where parking 17 <br />areas are adjacent to an alley). 18 <br />d. Prohibited in front and interior yard setback areas. 19 <br />6. A cottage housing development shall be designed to be visually and aesthetfcally compatfble with the 20 <br />neighborhood. Consideratfon shall be given to review of proposed building materials, roof pitches, 21 <br />building forms, landscaping and open space in the approval process. The city may conditfon the project 22 <br />to address compatfbility with adjoining neighborhood. 23 <br />19.08.100 ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS 24 <br />A. The following table provides standards required for accessory dwelling units (ADUs).
